Uploading Photos

Photos provide proof of service and protect both your business and your customer. The RoutePilot mobile app lets you capture and attach photos directly from the stop detail screen.

Taking a Photo

From any stop:

  1. Open the stop detail
  2. Tap Add Photo
  3. Select Camera to take a new photo or Photo Library to choose an existing one
  4. The photo uploads and attaches to the job record

You can add multiple photos per stop.

When to Use Photos

Common use cases for photo documentation:

  • Before/after — capture the site before you start and after completion
  • Issue documentation — visible damage, pest activity, or unusual conditions you found
  • Proof of service — evidence that work was performed, especially for exterior treatments or lawn care
  • Customer requests — if a customer asked to see what was done

Photo Storage

Photos are stored on the job record and visible to:

  • Dispatchers and office staff in the job detail view
  • The customer (if their account has a customer portal, when available)

Photos are not sent to customers automatically unless you explicitly share them.

After Upload

Once a photo is uploaded:

  • It appears in the stop's photo gallery
  • It is attached to the work order record
  • It can be referenced if a customer calls with questions later

Note

Photos upload immediately when you have a signal. If you take photos while offline, they are queued locally and upload automatically when you reconnect. Do not close the app until the sync status shows complete.
